This was THE book of this series.
Alessandro the man that you are! I had been waiting for this book from the moment I realized it was an option for Neva to follow through on the subplot with Az/Felix/Sergei and I was NOT disappointed. This book was dark, sexy, emotional, but most of all it was gory as all hell and I ate up every line.
I am having so much fun with this series and not ready for it to come to an end. There are only a few books left and I’m dreading saying goodbye to these characters 😭

I’m sad because I was looking forward to this book since Sergeis book!!!
The fact that this guy who was a trained bodyguard and would’ve been trained to spot body language didn’t pick up from a very first meeting that she was in an abusive relationship was insane. This one was also different because he hated her for just being married to his dead wife’s killer which for me I struggle to really connect with how the hell this man‘s gonna fall in love with her.
Also, it’s not like the disconnection between the FMC and her husband isn’t clear because in the past books one of the FMC’s saw that she was uncomfortable around her wedding so the idea that people around her are not seeing this is insane. For me it’s unbelievable that it took up to 50% of the book for him to realise that she was being abused.
And if I’m honest, I don’t believe the romance. I don’t believe that these two people could fall in love with each other when they don’t even get to know each other, they don’t have a proper conversation with each other. It’s purely lust. There is actually no romance. Which is upsetting because as a bodyguard romance this could really have a level of yearning for each other, which wasn’t there.
And I think for me, I didn’t like the revenge plot because of that element I did not believing he fell in love with this woman because what you’re telling me for 50% of the book you want to murder this woman because your wife was murdered and now you love her. It doesn’t make sense.
