Can they finally get past the friend stage Jack has been waiting for, or will more obstacles stand in the way?
Honestly, Jack might be my new favorite. The way he's loved Kendra from afar and when he finally gets the chance, he'll stop at nothing to show her what she deserves and prove he's not her ex. Jack and Kendra may have had some obstacles but their story and so sweet and spicy! I loved getting a small glimpse of the scorpion gang and all the new characters introduced. I really enjoyed getting more of Jack and Kendra's siblings and can't wait to see how the next book plays out!

Omg Ruth Stilling’s writing just keeps getting better and better!! I am in love! Here comes Jack Morgan stealing my heart! If you read any of her Seattle Scorpion series then YOU NEED TO READ THIS!
Jack Morgan is the definition of boy obsessed! He has always deep down wanted Kendra Hart from the moment he met her. However, she was taken. After breaking up with her current boyfriend who happens to be Jack’s rival and he isn’t taking no for an answer. Here comes Jack swooping in and helps her when she had no place to stay! He is my favorite! He never gave up on her.
Kendra Hart, that girl is going through so many challenges and the way she grows just melts my heart!she is a badass and I loved her energy! She never gave up and went after what she wanted!
Okay okay. But Jon Morgan as the coach was EVERYTHING I needed!! I loved how we still got our favorite hockey players from Seattle scorpions in this. Ruth really out did her self and I’m so excited for this rest of this series!!

⚽️ thoughts on the book:
perfect deke is the first book of the blades series. its the second-gen to the scorpions series. based on me not reading the first series, i could say that you can go into the blades without reading the scorpions. but i will say that we do get to see some of the charcaters from the scorpions in the blades series. perfect is a dual pov book, it follows kendra and jack in new york when certain situations happen with kendra. jack tries to help kendra in any way that he possibly can. so when jack volunteers himself to be kendra’s gala to keep her ex off her back, he asks to be her fake boyfriend.
kendra is the center back for the new york storm. kendra moved to new york because of her ex… so after they are done, kendra is trying to figure out why she’s still in new york. there’s a reason why her ex is an ex but one thing is that he still bothers kendra and kendra is DONE with him but the ex isn’t getting the signs. kendra is an independant girl and tries to do things on her own but s ceratin someone wouldn’t let her. kendra dreams of being part of the US Olympic soccer team, she trains hard and does her best. watching kendra slowly fall in love with new york, it gives her the strength she needs to chase her dreams. kendra moved to new york for one reason but throughout the book, kendra seems to find herself and lets herself live as much as she can while having jack by her side. kendra letting herself leave someone toxic behind and allowing herself to be with someone who truly appreciates herself, gives her a new confidence and it shows throughout the book.
jack is the winger for the blades hockey team and is currently a rookie on team. jack looks up to jon (stepdad) and hates (atp he might will use the word hate) his biological dad. it’s clear that jack hates any guy who doesn’t treat their significant other with respect and love. throughout the book it’s clear that jack tries to be a better man than the one he grew up calling “dad.” so when kendra’s ex keeps bothering her, he volunteers himself to be a fake boyfriend. there is no way that jack was going to let the ex keep on bothering, especially the guy being a blades teammate. one thing that jack will do is take care of the people he cares the most about. i think with seeing how his father treates his mom growing up and then finding a man that cherishes, jack wants to be the type of man that will always be there for his love. jack really is a sweet, caring, and charming guy. he’s also britsh. jack is a respectable english man that is unitll he decides to show kendra how much he loves her. that boy gets dirty and loves getting called a good boy.
jack and kendra are a couple of cuties!! i still can’t get over them. especially with the way that jack cares and treats kendra. jack literaly treats kendra with so much love that i’m still not over it. i can’t wait to see snippets of them in the future.
