She didn't let things get her down but instead used that as fuel. The connection and passion between these two and the mouth on both of them ๐ฅต chefs kiss

Perfect Deke is the first story in the Blade Kings next gen series. It follows Jack Morgan, son and stepson of Felicity and Jon from Boarded Hearts, as he begins his NHL career after a year in the AHL, and Kendra Hart, professional footballer (soccer) and girlfriend of Jack's college teammate and 'rival'.
When Kendra's relationship with Tyler goes up in smoke and her apartment ceiling caves in, she's left either sofa surfing for weeks or trying to find a hotel. A chance encounter with Jack sees him offer her a room in his penthouse until she can get back on her feet.
I really loved this story! Both Jack and Kendra had really rounded personalities, and although they're clearly a huge part of their lives, their commitments to their sports careers was not their only personality trait. Jack is determined to show that he's not just Jon's stepson and deserves to be where he is, and his relationship with his dad is an interesting one too. I loved Kendra's determination to not just live off the fame and fortune her dad and brother have (also footballers!), but this has definitely led to some hyper-independence.
I really enjoyed getting to know the new Blades players, who I'm sure are getting their own books! And I loved Kendra's best friend as well. As usual, it was great have cameos from the Scorpions, even briefly, and of course seeing quite a lot of Jon and Fiona!
This book has made me very excited for this new series, I can't wait for the next one!

JACK FREAKING MORGAN! First of all the shock of his name being Jack MORGAN! My goodness I was not expecting it but Iโm happy for him. This book took so many twists and turns. Scheming POS/ ex that just wonโt let go! A deadbeat โdadโ that tries to be a conniving snake but fails miserably. Two Easter egg potential relationships ๐ New friends, interesting plot line and a not so slow burn ๐ฎโ๐จ. Through everything that gets thrown at them, they come out the other end stronger! Iโm telling you he is Jon Morganโs son through and through, DNA or not! He is a boy obsessed and head over heels! I seriously donโt know what Ruth puts in her books but they are certainly addicting and attention pulling reads! I drank this book up in less than 24 hours! I loved every second of it. Also THE MOUTH ON JACK?! FILTHY ABSOLUTELY FILTHY! ๐ฉ๐ฎโ๐จ Also I hope we get a book on Kendraโs brother because he is such a main character and absolutely hilarious ๐! His swooning over Jack was adorable ๐ญ๐. And last but not least Sawyer and Archer?! Yea, theyโre family for sure with the way they took Jack under their wings and the Seattle Scorpions cameo?! ๐ฅน๐ฅฐ Loved it!

Jack Morgan is a manace it's like i saw him grow up from 18 to 22 and BLOODY HELL(i will not stop saying this.)he is FILTHY.
Kendra is as filthy as him and even if i was rooting for a character we kind of saw in book 4 of the seattle scorpions this was waaay better.
The plot was beautiful and the third act (not) hreak up in true Ruth Stilling style was amazing and emotional i almost teared up.
Spice: A lot of scenes and way more spicy than the previews books, yet PERFECTION. Jack and Kendra scenes were pure chemistry and the descriptions were never cringe or out of line.
*Why not 5 stars?*
Easy. The first 30% was hard to get past it for me even if i was ready for a slow burn some descriptions felt long, but i blame the fact it's the first book and needed more of a generic intro to get the series. So the book missed the spark (definitely not the characters!!) that it usually makes me swoon to get to 5.
Overall a great and beautiful book and can't wait for book two(not saying who it is yet you just have to wait!)
