This book disappointed me so much. It’s started out pretty good, then the MMC suggests a fake relationship for no reason, the FMC agrees, again for no reason, then they proceed to not even fake date???
The thing that brought this book down from 3 maybe 3.5 stars was the way the MMC and antagonist talked about women. It was said 2 or 3 times but the last one was my final straw. The MMC who cares deeply for the FMC said : « sloppy second never felt so good », or something along those lines, to her ex at least twice to goad him.
That final time made me skim through the last 60 pages that were just filled with smut. There was barely any plot
Even the side characters annoyed me near the end, they just seemed so forced
And the plot twist was so anti climactic.

Um... HELLO JACK MORGAN! Who knew our little Jack Morgan from the Scorpians Series was going to be the best of them all. No lies... this is my absolute favorite Ruth Stilling book! The character development, the spice, the plot... everything was 5 stars, no notes, give me fourteen of them!
These two together were perfection. Their ability to communicate and trust each other. Uh, swoon. Jack Morgan, I literally have no words for 🥵🫠😍. He is definitely one of my new favorite mmc's. I loved that he was there for Kendra, but did not push her to move their relationship forward before she was ready. Also, Kendra? Homegirl learned to take back her strength, independence, and sense of self after being depleted by that d-canoe Tyler. And yes, I don't say that lightly but that is exactly what her ex-boyfriend was! I loved her ability to stand-up for what she needed and wanted, as well as stand up on the behalf of others.
I loved Coach Jon Morgan! I feel like this is the best version of himself that we've seen so far. His releationship with Jack is so sweet. I also loved the cameos by the rest of the Seattle Scorpians. However, I can sense a good found family coming in this series to rival that of the Scorpians.
Literally, I have no notes. This book will live rent free in my head for the foreseeable future!
