i absolutely adored this short novella! the story revolves around India and Reese, [assistant/boss] who have nurtured a crush on each other for five long years. the tension between them is palpable, but both are hesitant to take that leap into a relationship. reese grapples with personal growth and his commitment to his burgeoning business, while their friends are practically screaming for them to get together.
india's clever move to take charge of her destiny is where the story takes an intriguing turn. fueled by the fear of rejection, she invents an alter ego named "Egypt" and bids on Reese at a fundraising auction. their chemistry ignites even deeper as she steps out of her comfort zone, and indulges in a spicy night with Reese.
what truly captured my heart was the moment Reese finally connects the dots and admits his feelings for India. the lengths he goes to express his adoration are both heartwarming and unforgettable. because baby, if he wanted to, he would!
this story beautifully explores themes of love, vulnerability, and the courage to break free from fears that hold us back.

India did what she needed to do the night of the masquerade charity auction and it gave Reese the push to make things official between the two of them. The mask and the decorated office were the stars of the story.

This is the one to pick up when you need to scratch a certain itch…

What happens when you finally shoot your shot at your hot boss by bidding on him at a party and rocking his entire world (anonymously of course 🤭)? This was an instant inferno. No “hello” or “how are you?” to be found. An absolutely good time with characters who feel like they’re meant to be.

I read this book on a reading sprint during a BOOKCLUB meeting. This book is my second read by this author, I liked the workplace aspect of this quick read and the spice. Reese and India was chasing eachother through the book however, I was glad when they finally got together after the auction.
