-----------------------
Infinite in Between, ugh this book. This book follows five people, in high school, Whitney, Zoe, Mia, Jake, and Gregor who meet at their freshmen orientation. This is told in five different point of view and is separated in four sections, Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior and Senior Year.
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
The book starts off with Freshmen Year. As the reader, the beginning starts off with the five being in the same freshmen orientation group. They all end up writing letters to their future selves, (thanks to Whitney). This year we end up learning that Gregor falls in love with Whitney that day of freshmen orientation, Mia is super creepy, and ends up reading their letters.
Throughout the book, Mia is the one that constantly thinks about the other four, wanting to bring them together. Zoe is a movie star that moves to town, Jake is this heartthrob, but is experiencing heartbreak from being in love with his ex-best friend Teddy. Whitney deals with her parents separating. Jake comes out to his parents, and they are so supportive. His dad says this line,
"enough bs, we'd say it's about time you figured that out. Now maybe you'll look happy again."
Then he hugs him. it was so cute. Also an important scene between Gregor and his father happens when they go condom shopping. It was so awkward but hilarious
Sophomore Year coming at ya, Kyra and Whitney aren't friends anymore, Whitney changed during the year because of the divorce. She ends up getting pneumonia causing her to go to the hospital. She starts to become upset with all of her friends having sex. Zoe wants to learn more about her dad. Jake gets the chance to talk to Teddy again. Mia ends up getting stalked and runs to Jake for safety. Mia ends up getting a makeover to start junior year, and Gregor loses his virginity that summer.
Junior Year starts off with surprises like Jake first love, Teddy, comes out as gay. Gregor's dad dies of a heart attack which has a negative effect on Gregor, causing him to be sad a lot of the time. Mia starts junior year beautiful and becomes a jerk. Whitney gets on the outs with her friends with her desire to do drugs, and have sex. Mia finally achieves her childhood obsession by making out with Brock. The year ends with Jake and Teddy reconciling and dating yay!!!
The last part is Senior Year starting off with Teddy breaking up with Jake over text message. Zoe becomes a thing with a boy named Dinky (a friend of Gregor), Whitney starts reminiscing on the car accident, finding out it killed a junior named James. She admits to liking Gregor, after she starts hanging out with him for a while. It takes until the end of senior year for Gregor and Whitney to finally end up together.
The big moment in the book was when Gregor has his allergic reaction, Zoe finding out Rich is her dad (ya know her aunt's husband) which results in Zoe running away. The crew all gets together to find Zoe and it is so nice to see them together (since it is the first time). They talked about how high school went for them and how they all wished they were friends during high school. This book ended with them waiting to open their letters until 10 years has passed. It was so nice to see how all the characters grew up between freshmen year and senior year.

I liked it but I read it a while ago, don't really remember what happened. Liked the writing style and pov switches :)
A very insightful contemporary novel into the midst of teens going through high school. I myself am in high school right now, and I was trying to relate the whole time but they had a much different experience than what I'm having. Anyhoo, I was upset that they (spoiler) didn't read their letters but I'm glad that they came together after 4 years anyway. Nice novel.
Eh. The aversion to the past perfect tense was insanely irritating, which I know is a petty complaint but it was like having something stuck in your teeth-minor but aggravating. Also I was annoyed that the smart girl only thinks about her body and boys for so long. But some interesting ideas and I did read it on one go, so.
This book wasn't the most amazing book, but it was no where near bad either. It's always interesting reading a book about high school years to me. They all lived such telling lives in a mere 4 years. I think the best part of this book was reading and catching all the small connections that were happening. Overall it was a pretty decent read.
The narration put me to sleep and I could not relate to any of the characters. Yeah it was like The Breakfast Club but I just --- it was booooooring.
Love the format - the short chapters (each from a different character's viewpoint), made it a quick read.
I DNFed it around 2/3 of the way through. I like the concept and it was pleasant to read, but I just stopped caring enough to finish it. It definitely wasn't bad, though! Probably a 3.5 star book, but I rounded down for the rating.
Average. There were a lot of characters that could be slightly difficult to keep track of but I enjoyed how all the little strings tied together.
