The Slow Road North is a story that ads the author's experience of Glenarm in the North of Ireland after the loss of her husband to cancer and her mother to illness. Her journey takes her to leave New York to a place where she finds a home, not just a building but in her heart.
To many people, grief is a long journey of stopping all, nothingness, and only experiencing emptiness in life but she is a person who delights in talking to strangers, curious about their stories, learning and wanting more than isolation and silence. Even during quarantine, her journey is full of community, humanity, and love.
Well-writting, filled with information, experiences (of different types of people), a wonderful read. One must love people and life to see the world through her eyes.
