Laurie Notaro never ceases to amaze me with her wit, her unabashed honesty, and the ability to make me laugh so hard that I think I'll tinkle. This book is just another reason why I consider her my favorite author. I can't wait to move to Oregon..I'll just have to make sure that I don't ever tailgate a Prius!

This might not be my very favorite book Laurie has written but the others were so good they are hard to beat!!! You cannot go wrong with this one - it is so funny but I will say it does have one sad part in it that broke my heart!!!!

This was ridiculously bad. The few nuggets of funny were buried so deep that they weren't worth the trouble of digging through all the self-indulgent "story telling" to find them. I think that reading through this schlock actually made me dumber.

On the whole, I thought the collection was pretty good. There are some super-funny stories, like the one in which Notaro gets flipped off by hippies and decides to turn around and tailgate them in her Prius. There are some super-affecting stories, like the one in which her beloved dog suddenly falls ill. Most are entertaining; a couple of them fell flat for me.

Some really nice pieces, like the ones about her dog dying and about the cruise she and her best friend took. But something's missing. She's transitioning from being a humorist to someone with more depth, and not even funny things happen to her to build into a book. I still love her, though--very fun read, and she once complimented me on my glasses when she signed my book. How can you not love someone like that?

Made me laugh, but was at times overly mean-spirited.
