This book really wasn't my style. There was no plot or thread to the story line and I found it very difficult to stay engaged. I felt like I was supposed to like it or be impressed by it, but it was all over my head. Too many lists and menus and random poems be considered a novel in my eyes.

Não é apenas uma leitura, é uma experiência sensorial completa! Alguns contos são brutais e dolorosos, alguns me levaram novamente à minha infância e minhas memórias. Cada conto tem sua personalidade, sua voz, seu ritmo, cada conto é uma pessoa a ser desvendada. Um dos melhores livros e experiências que eu já tive contato na vida. Recomendo muitíssimo.

A day in Sao Paolo, Brazil in 2000: an amalgam of people and places, each told in a short sketch of a particular time for a particular person. Interesting and intense, even if a bit incoherent at times.

Is this a fever dream? It's like I am invisibly journey round São Paulo collecting artifacts: stories, sounds, conversations, lists... Many of the chapters paint a bleak picture of life in the city, but the way it's written is compelling.

É um livro bom e diferente. Entendo o motivo das pessoas gostarem tanto da obra, mas não me conquistou tanto. No entanto, recomendo a leitura. Alguns textos são melhores que outros. Acho a ideia boa. Gostei bastante do texto "O 'Crânio'".

No, no es una novela. Son cientos de historias del día a día en diferentes tonos y formas narrativas, algo que la critica alaba como innovador. No lo disfruté. Tal vez no es mi tipo de libro.
