I have a confession to make...I love royal romances far too much. Sometimes, however, modern ones can seem like they love interest is a stand-in for a real person so it feels weird. This book doesn't give that vibe. I'm excited for the next book in this series.

This is totally what a girls' dreams are made of! A great modern fairy tale.
It's an easy read, mostly predictable but with Emma's entertaining writing, I was sucked right into this story. Don't know why I waited so long to read it. Can't wait to watch the movie! Absolutely my thing <3

"I love you, Olivia. I don’t need a kingdom—if you’re beside me, I already have the whole world.”

It is the kind of sappy romance story I am currently in the mood for.
I can't believe I didn't read it before and I can t wait to read the next book

The reason why I am giving this 5 stars is being of the pure enjoyment I derived from reading this

I’ve only read one book by this author, which was way back in 2016. Unfortunately, that particular story didn’t work for me. Although I liked the author’s writing a lot, I never picked another of her books up again until now. I’m glad I did. I really enjoyed this story.

From the moment Olivia and Nicholas meet this story had me in its sway. I love the missteps and the wooing on Nicholas’ part. Olivia has reason to not put up with him and his privilege. She has responsibilities and concerns he cannot even imagine. Although he has a whole kingdom on his shoulders. Somehow, these two work. Olivia brings out the best in Nicholas and Nicholas helps Olivia enjoy life a bit more.

Olivia is amazing. I love how tough she is while also being forgiving and kind. As she often says, she’s from New York City so it takes a lot to bother her. Love is another thing though and Nicholas soon has the power to totally break her, which he almost does. I wish there would have been more groveling from Nicholas in the end, but actions do speak louder than words and I guess there wasn’t much left to say once he turned his focus toward fixing their relationship.

I found the pacing of the book to be wonderful at first, but it seemed to slow down once they left New York. Thankfully, it picked back up for the latter part of the book so it ended on a high note. I loved all the characters in this book so I’m looking forward to the rest of this series.

A modern fairytale! Emma Chase did really well. I love EVERY character and felt a connection and understanding towards each one. If Ellie is in a sequel, I need to read that very soon

A cute fast read. Insta love for sure and there isn’t a lot of depth to the characters or the story but it sure is fun. Very Wattpad esq.

Nope, nope, nope. This had so much potential to be a cute Cinderella like contemporary, but the ending completely ruined it for me. Please people, when a guy’s love declaration is “I love you, please be my mistress while I marry someone else” you run. I don’t care if he’s gorgeous, and he seems like Prince Charming, and he gives you pretty things, and he’s really skilled in bed, you run fast and you run far. Also, hoping the guy who broke your heart got you pregnant just so he’ll come back to you is not a good idea. Like at all. So yeah, the beginning of this book was cute, I even swooned over Nicholas a bit, but the ending completely ruined it for me.
SpoilerI love a good happily ever after, but this was just... Nope.
I think Henry might have been my favourite character, and I feel really bad for him.
SpoilerI mean what a dick move of Nicholas to just dump the responsibilities he didn’t want on Henry without even discussing it with him. What the fuck. Not okay people!
He deserved better. I’m pretty sure the next book is about him developing a relationship with Sarah, but I hated the ending of this book so much that I don’t think I’ll even pick that up.
