Nicholas, Crowned Prince of Wessco is a man bound by his duty to his country and, when he’s informed he must choose a bride and then sent to New York to bring his younger brother back home, he decides to make the most of the time he’s got left.
Olivia Hammond is a hardworking, no-nonsense young woman, with way too many responsibilities to follow up on celebrities or jet setters and has no clue whatsoever who the handsome, arrogant and very rude Nicholas is at first and treats him like she would any other creep…literally.
This is my second take on this review, because I don’t feel I did this book justice the first time.
I think this story is Cinderella meets Coming to America in some way. While Olivia is broke, tending to the shop and keeping her family together, Nicholas is desperately trying to grasp at the remnants of his freedom by having one last fling. They both feel trapped by their circumstances and, when something starts developing between them, they want to hold on to it for as long as their lives will allow, taking the chance to spend what little time he has left together.
“Some people go their whole lives without feeling that. We’ll get to have it for four months.”
This book had me laughing out loud with Nicholas’ arrogant charm and directness and the banter between him and Olivia. I adored the fact that this is a woman who never lets him have his way just because he’s a prince, but cares about the person he is and shows it every step of the way. It also made me cry when their time together is coming to an end and Nicholas starts to panic, every time he thinks he’s lost her and the hardships to make the right decision.
IMO, Royally Screwed is a book that has no waste. It has great writing at a fluid pace, it’s sexy, heartfelt and romantic. The perfect modern fairy tale, threading elements of real life and timeless tales to give us an amazing love story, one I think no one should miss and which I’d love to watch on the screen. ;-)

If I had read this before the latest Harry and Meghan developments, I believe I would have felt stronger about this book -- instead the end felt a little too perfect. But I loved Olivia and her bakery, and I did love them falling for each other. (This book is extremely sexy.) The grovel was NOT good enough though -- it happens so late in the book that I was almost the book would end in a cliffhanger.
Still, looking forward to continuing with this series!

A cute fun quick read. Sometimes the baker does win the heart of the prince. Wow, did the Prince have a delicious filthy mouth. Written in dual POV which made for a great read.
I've read only one other book by Emma, which is just a shame on my part but honestly, I loved the other one I read so why wouldn't I love this one too? There is no reason because I loved it. There's something about Emma's writing style that is just so endearing and it sucks me into the story. I knew I would like it just from the synopsis but once I started reading I was hooked. I actually read this one via audio book so I loved having those voices come to life.
Of course, with every book in this area that I love and read I could guess generally what would happen but the how was up in the air. But that doesn't mean I was any less intrigued or on the edge of my seat hoping it will work out for Nicholas and Olivia. I thought that the way this progressed was great and I was completely invested. I thought that Olivia was charming and someone very relatable. Nicholas was very charming and might I say, sexy and now on my book boyfriend list. I can't wait to see what happens next in this family.

I freakin' loved this!
It was my first "Royal" romance and I was a bit skeptical because Emma Chase's "Tangled" didn't do it for me, and "Tamed" was better but nothing off-the-charts amazing.
Instead, "Royally Screwed" was the perfect mix of funny, hawt and romantic. It totally got me going and I fell for Nicholas since page one. Okay, maybe page 10 or so, when he sobered up.
I also adored Olivia. Something I always appreciate in female main characters is if they're hard-working gals. Still, what I love even more is when they also happen to be sweet people who don't shy away from love only because they're too busy. I like balance, and Olivia had the perfect one. Also, her being so outspoken and honest made the dynamics with Nicholas fresh, witty and fun.
The plot overall wasn't anything too original, but the characters were complex and lovable enough to make it read like something new.
All in all, I devoured it. It was a page-turner and I loved how their relationship was epic in that desperate way that only loves with an expiration date can be (and also seriously hot. Like they should add a warning: it may combust panties). Still, the book's atmosphere was mostly happy and easy-going. The dark cloud hanging over their heads didn't perturb the narration.
Now I've already started to read Henry's book, a character that truly intrigued me in "Royally Screwed" and about whom I want to know way more.

This one had my emotions rolling at the last 1/4 of the book. I was so upset at what Nicholas did to my girl Olivia! This was a nice read if you love the movie The Prince and Me. I love anything that has to do with royals so I loved that aspect.
I've been reading a lot of NA novels lately and I have to say that the first half of this book was rather dull and more than a little contrived. It felt like the author was just trying to incorporate an inordinate number of references of today's society and it really disrupted with the flow of the book and made me cringe. But I pushed through and the second half of the novel was much better and definitely lived up to expectations more. I loved Olivia's kickass character but Nicholas honestly leaves me wishing for a little bit more; there were two very contrasting sides to his personality and they just didn't seem to meld well. Overall, a decent NA book but not my favourite and I'm still on the fence about continuing with this series.
this book is funny, romantic, and sexy. I have read other books by Emma Chase and they are just as funny and entertaining. One of my main reasons for liking her books is because se lives in jersey. us jersey girls have to stick together! there is never a dull moment in this book. the characters alone i felt that i could be best friends with. that is one of my main thing that i look for in a book. if i can bond with the characters, then that book will be one of my ride or die books. you will not be able to put this book down. i finished this book just under five hours. i can not wait to read the next one.
