A very trope-tastic romance that is a perfect summer read. It's cute, sexy at times, and incredibly superficial. Sometimes, that's exactly what you need. When you prepare yourself to take nothing seriously then it's all fun. It's a fast read and definitely a book to help you get out of a reading slump. I've read better authors and stories but sometimes you're in the mood for something like this.

I first heard about this series on tumblr and I knew I had to get it in my hands! The book centers on Nicholas a young prince for the country of Wesco, a fictional country of a blend of the United Kingdom that separated from the crown a few hundred of years ago. Nicholas is in line to become king and his grandmother (the current queen) tells him he must get his act together and get hitched to some blue-blood, but she does allow him five months of fun/freedom before he has to settle down. Enter Olivia. She is a New Yorker who is running her mother's bakery by sheer force of will, one day a handsome stranger named Nicholas enters with a friend and drunkenly hits on her, only to end up with a pie to the face. Soon begins a once-in-a-lifetime romance, and a connection neither can deny. Both believe they can be happy with the few months they've been allowed together but in the end love proves stronger.
Spoiler
Leading Nicholas to give up his line in the throne to be with Olivia. If the synopsis sounds cheesy and silly, then don't bother because it is both of these things. Honestly romance novels aren't usually my thing but this hit all my buttons, I have such a soft spot for royal romances and opposites finding each other. Through most of my reading I had a big ol' grin on my face and felt all warm and gooey inside. The sex scenes aren't too bad (I've definitely read much worse) nor too much. Sometimes I felt like the author was inserting herself since I noticed she look a bit like the description we're given of Olivia but I don't care since in a story like this you can understand and doesn't pull you out of the story.
If you like rom-coms and cute romance stories, then I totally recommend this. It's a short little book but it leaves you feeling upbeat.
*2.5 stars*
It was a light easy read, but Prince Nicholas just kind of pissed me off. I just feel like he didn’t have too much regard for Olivia’s feelings. Still digesting my feelings towards the book as a whole.

OMG!!! This reminded me of 15 year old Tori's fantasy of meeting a prince and falling in love, but with spice! This had everything I wanted from a royal romance. The only reason I gave it a 4.5 instead of a 5 is because Nicholas did some stupid things and I just wanted knock some sense into him! Other than that it was amazing! I'm so excited to continue to the next book because I'm excited to see Henry's story, plus I love the Bachelor concept!
Very nice (but as usual also unrealistic) characters, in the end i believe I liked the side characters more than the main ones, as they were a bit too good to be true.
But the plot is nice and it makes you dream with open eyes, so nice read

I really enjoyed this adventure into the land of Wessco. And I timed it right with The Royal Wedding that took place over the weekend!
I held back in starting this series for when I needed an Emma Chase fix. After having read the Tangled and Legal Briefs series, Emma Chase has become a favorite author of mine.
This book had a slightly different vibe than the last two series. It has a younger feel to it and was (for me, at least) less laugh-out-loud funny. But the excellent male POV and the witty banter were still there, which I loved.
I enjoyed Nicholas and Olivia in this Cinderella story! And I especially enjoyed the audio book. Shane East made a great Nicholas and Andi Arndt, well, she's always great!
I am looking forward to Henry's book next.

I didn't have high expectations based on the title, other than maybe being entertained. I've read this kind of story before and it's comforting to get lost in. But this one was just a little bit different and I liked most of the characters. Maybe they could have been less likeable but that's just me being picky. I loved Nicholas and Olivia and it was a nice way to spend a few hours, getting lost in the kingdom of Wessco.
Good, quick book to listen to. I'll probably read the next one, too.
