Nora Roberts has always been my go to for guilty pleasure reading. I can always count on her mysteries to entertain. This one is no different. I was a little reticent, due to the subject matter, but took a chance. The characters where well developed. While Roberts stories are rather formulaic, I still enjoy her stories and how none of them are ever the same. The antagonist in this book is truly one of her worst. Maybe that's why I loved the protagonists even more.

Last book read in 2018. Kind of a disappointment. NR is always my go-to feel good quick read, but everything in this book was just a patchwork of her previous plots, characters, dialogue, and development schemes. Plus the added discomfort of mass shootings. Too soon. I really prefer NR's earlier books.

Really really enjoyed this story!! It’s definitely much more of a suspense story than anything. But while it’s suspenseful, it’s mostly about healing and recovery. I loved the subtle romance and I loved the growth of both Reed and Simone.

This was actually really good. I loved the characters, particularly CC and Reed. The story was actually really good, and the other population was good as well

Trigger warning: mass shooting.

One of my favorite standalone NR novels. Definitely had an air of JD Robb in the language used, so if you like her style in those books, you’ll definitely enjoy this one. I also so love when we get to see years and years of progression, and this featured a huge timespan. Loved it.

Simone, Reed, Mi, Essie, Cici....loved all the characters, but such a sad base story of the shooting at the mall and how the survivors lived, while not realizing the terror that still existed among them for a while.

What an amazing story! The last few chapters were so intense I was pacing while reading it!
