OMG DEX AND FAYE ARE SO FUCKING ADORABLE TOGETHER!!!! "I breathe you." I cried when Mary got shot and teared when Jim died. I really love that at the age of 10 she's like Dexter Black will be mine. They are perfect for each other.
Re-listened over the weekend and enjoyed it as much as the first time.
Love how the characters say what they think without varnish. Love that Faye is a normal pregnant person, with increased size... everywhere! not just a cute baby bump crap.
There's a nice arc in their relationship from the start that is supported by their connected past, but still isn't insta-love. And I also loved that Faye and Dex/Sin aren't the only ones with character growth.

Dex and Faye. I got this as an audio based on some of the reviews. I prefer my audio books to be less angsty as I am often driving while listening. Some reviewers are complaining that this isn't dirty enough or angsty enough or bloody enough to be an MC book. That's what I liked about it. It has drama, but not too much, and the characters feel realistic. Kinda reminds me of JA Hornbuckle's MC series.
Faye and Dex have known each other for many years, as she has been dating his younger half brother since high school. Then finds said idiot brother in bed with her so-called-friend. Ick. So she goes out to a bar to 'get him out of her system' aka 'revenge fuck'. As luck would have it, she runs into his older brother Dex whom she's secretly crushed on since she was a kid. I liked the sex and in that it was more realistic and didn't go on for pages and pages of contortionist gymnastics.
Dex is pretty straight up with her afterwards that it was a one night thing, and she is disappointed but not surprised. She figures she'll never see him again.... but she didn't realize that the condom had broken!
So of course Dex finds out and drags her back to the MC compound. A good thing too, since her parents had kicked her out for getting pregnant. She's pretty young, but doesn't come across as immature and her and Dex do talk. So misunderstandings don't drag on. There's a lot more to the story with some action, and drama from the past, and heartbreak. But her and Dex stay strong and it was a nice arc of them remembering each other as kids and falling in love as adults. A very satisfying read or I should say listen. The reader does a fine job. The ending is a little fairytalish but I'm still looking forward to Arrow's story next!

Dex is actually in the midst of divorcing his first wife who was unfaithful. Faye doesn't find out til about half way, but it isn't a big deal once she processes the info. Plus it isn't so simple. There is a club ho who tries to make her relationship to Dex seem like it amounts to more than a few simple fucks before he re-met Faye. But she (the ho) redeems herself and Dex couldn't care less about her.##########################################################

I Loved it all I wish it had been longer and that in the end they had not gotten any jail time (Dex and Arrow) but at least they are out I also hate that people died when their enemy's showed up and started shooting. Overall though it was a Really Good story! :D
Oh my gosh Chantal. I love all of your books but this one is definitely my favorite by far. I know we can only give 5 stars but thats not enough at all. I loved this book so much I hated putting it down and I hated that it ended. I wish it could've just never stopped. First I wanna say I hate Eric but I thank him for what he did because I totally LOVED Dex. Next I gotta say could a man get any hotter than Dexter FRIGGIN Black? No. He was just awesome, I need a Dex. And Faye was just awesome. I loved the things she would say, her spunky attitude. She had me laughing alot. This book had me drooling one minute and then my heart hurting the next. I really can't wait for Arrows story.
