A befitting sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale, that answers so many unanswered questions about how Gilead state came to be, how did it become what it was, and what happened to Offred after she was arrested. Quite encouraging after the dark first instalment, and the character of Aunt Lydia was such a revelation. Though this book too gives you the jitters in parts. Quite impressive end to the series.

This was fine, I do think it’s a pretty good sequel to the handmaids tale and I like how it was different people’s testimony about living in gilead but I really only read this because I don’t want to finish the Grady Hendrix book I’m listening to because it’s about haunted dolls and I don’t fuck with a creepy doll!
