perhaps this book was unnecessary. the handmaids tale was an incredibly well written warning but this book felt like it was written more for entertainment value (which is a little scary to think about considering the state of our government). although after reading the acknowledgments maybe she’s giving some helpful insight regarding how to overthrow a fascist dictatorship.

Atwood has done a marvellous job of responding to the fall of Gilead, plus incorporating societal changes within the last 35 years. It’s captivating how involved you feel as a reader.
