Really interesting commentary on the criminal justice system. This book does a great job of humanizing both the offender and the victim, as well as their families. Highly recommend!

lindseygilger's review against another edition
The storytelling was just so incredibly slow. This is a sad, complicated case but the author did not draw me in in the slightest. The first 50% of the book was all background and so many names it was hard to keep track.
Moderate: Transphobia and Violence
