I probably should’ve looked into this on more….not for me plus the plot felt a little too much like the Illuminae Files without the humor & illustrations & briefings.

Impossible is just an excuse not to try

When theres a distress signal on a distant planet an unprepared rescue crew is sent and unearth something evil and dangerous that puts everyone, even humanity at risk

Random Thoughts:

-Major Aliens vibe from this book. After finishing I wanted to watch them. But thats a positive

-SO much mystery in this book but its all done really well and you eventually get the answers that are pretty satisfying for the most part

-The Contagion itself is probably the coolest part of the book as it does some pretty cool things and I was never totally sure what was behind it all or where things were going to go. It kept me guessing.

- Lisbeth and her intern Thea, Nova the pilot, "The Kid" are all amazing charaters in their own right. The only one I didn't like was Dylan but im pretty 99% sure that was on purpose. But its cool seeing them go from bright eyed newbies to hardcore kickass survivalists.

-This is the first book in a series of two and im super excited to see where the next book goes.

Conclusion:

I really enjoyed this one. From the characters, to the contagion itself, to the mystery. To reminding me of one of my favorite movies(Aliens). I can't recommend this one enough and that's why I haven't given too many details as there's a lot packed in here and I don't want to spoil any of it! Just trust me when I say you will enjoy it!

Every lie he’d told—every half truth he’d yet to utter—was purposeful. If the Odyssey crew didn’t fight him, he could potentially save them all.

Bowman crafted a well-done horror movie in book form and I'm not even mad she pulled a "surprise! this has a sequel" at the very end. Check out my full review at Forever Young Adult.

Meh. Space zombie virus plots are always the same. At least Bowman did a decent job writing it and built a more complex political ending

lots of horror elements i love - isolation, viruses, etc. unfortunately the characters and plot fell short for me.
