Everything about this comic is beautiful. So well made. I'm going to miss it.

I frankly found this book to be boring and really ridiculous, at least in the first half. It tries way too hard to be funny and the humor falls flat. The plot is also really ridiculous as well. This is barely any action and you don't feel anything for the heroes or villains at all.

Man I wanted this to be great. I love the character and the fresh approach Cain takes here. It is campy and sexual without being exploitative while still tying into the aftermath of Civil War 2 but there should be more to this story. The ending feels rushed and tacked on and the two issues of New Avengers from 2010 are a cold comfort.

Really? Only two volumes of this delightful Chelsea Cain-helmed run? I am pretty bummed about that. I don't know a lot about the Marvel universe, but I have grown to love Mockingbird and her sassy shenanigans over these two volumes.

Oh, also? MERCORGIS. Never have I wanted an imaginary animal more. :(

Disappointed that this volume was only 3 issues of Mockingbird. I did not read the two New Avengers issues that were included. I will probably read that series eventually, but for the moment, I stuck with Mockingbird. Don't know all the connections to Civil War II if there are that many. Have found that many of the comic series are "connected" to Civil War II at some point. This is a little annoying to me... I think Mockingbird is a great hero, but this volume did not do her as much justice as the first volume.

Mostly fan/meta inside references, but continued the clever style from the first volume.

Did I pick this up because people were angry with the cover? Of course, I did, nothing gives me more satisfaction that people complaining about how feminists are ruining comics.

And I’m so surprised, I loved Mockingbird. Bobbi is a scientist, an agent, gorgeous and awesome (and she knows she is awesome). The story is funny and at the same time, it tackles important issues. The art is beautiful, I seriously fell in love with Bobbie.

I really enjoy Cain's writing. Sure, the adventure Bobbi's got going on in this volume is a bit thin... but the girl's got charm, sass, and smarts so I'll take what I can get.
It's pretty clear, however, from the size of this slim volume that Marvel was not down with the "feminist agenda" that Cain attributed to one of their characters; half of the book is dedicated to a second story written by Brian Michael Bendis!

While it is fair to give this collection four "I really liked it; it was very good" stars, I am disappointed that it only included three issues of Mockingbird by [a:Chelsea Cain|48557|Chelsea Cain|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1402611700p2/48557.jpg], and that these three issues end CC's run.

As far as the two issues of New Avengers that appeared in the end, #s 13 and 14, while they were interesting, and seem to have been "the origin story" for Mockingbird, though she was Mockingbird even before she was given the super soldier and infinity serums (totally not clear on how that worked or what changed), I did not enjoy the art very much. Sure, it was clear who was who and what was going on, but I much prefer the artwork of [a:Kate Niemczyk|14959021|Kate Niemczyk|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png], [a:Sean Parsons|2746362|Sean Parsons|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png], et.al., who worked on Chelsea Cain's Mockingbird.

Back to CC's Mockingbird, I enjoyed how the final issue brought Hunter and Hawkeye into the same scene, and I LOVED how Bobbi was all, "Shh. Stop with the talking. That's not why we're here. ... We're here because I need a foot rub." And. . .
A little harder, Clint.
I'm Hunter. He's Clint.
I said no talking. The End

I also enjoyed seeing the mercorgis presenting the banner for "The End." I had to go back to see that, yes, indeed, the corgis who rescued Bobbi from drowning had fish-tail hindquarters. :-) But still, that was a fun touch. :-)

I also have to say, I enjoyed how the three issues in this collection all told one story in sequential pieces. :-)

So this was a fun run of Mockingbird, though I wish it wasn't over.

It sucks that this series was cancelled so soon. I was hoping for more of biologist Bobbi like in volume 1, but volume 2 is a tie in to Civil War II so it focuses on Hawkeye. I have zero interest in Civil War II so I did not enjoy this volume.
