adventurous funny lighthearted medium-paced

There’s a lot of fun to be had with this, as long as you’re not expecting plot. But what a marvellous collection of thought experiments of what other - hmm, planes - might contain, and what would happen if we twisted and broke one or two of our rules about how this one works. I particularly liked the story about a world where there is a 1:1000 chance of the young developing wings, and the consequences therefrom - grounded, as you would expect, in our own biases.
As you would expect, marvellous writing, and an evocative empathic narrator, who had to deal with some tricky terms.

This wasn't my favorite Le Guin book. Mostly because it reads more like a collection of short stories. Some were interesting and some were less so. Imaginative and interesting but it wasn't gripping, at least not for me.

This book of other 'planes' had some interesting ideas and creativity. Some of the planes did make me think about our own world, in a kind of dystopian way. My favourite was the first one.

Imaginative premise and world-building but most of the stories did not resonate.
