Definitely well written and I can see the appeal. The protagonist is annoying, but realistic. It's just not holding my interest.

A very riveting gothic romance/suspense that was so intriguing and beautifully written I couldn't put it down. Akin to the literary fiction writers of the time, Du Maurier's writing of place, setting, and the little emotions that make us feel human are equally haunting and poignant.

It took me a little to get into this book and felt very slow at first. The story was fascinating though, and not what I expected. I’m curious to learn more about the musical version now!!

It’s probably actually a 3.5 star for me

I was lent this book and Jamaica Inn and thoroughly enjoyed both books . I honestly may nor of read these bit for a loan but Daphne Du Maurier was a fantastic writer in my opinion regardless of when the book was written.

There's a really good adaption of rebecca on Netflix too starring Lilly James.

I finally read this classic. I think if it weren't billed as the greatest psychological thriller ever, I would have enjoyed it more. Halfway through the book before that part really started and honestly it didn't suck me in that much. But overall, a good story as long as you remember the time period in which it was written.
