Maame: Woman, Mother.
This book follows Maddie’s journey from bitterness, despair, and brokenness within her life to acceptance, love, and finding of self and where she truly belongs. I was going to rate it 4 stars, before I read the acknowledgements. Don’t skip those! Beautifully written and tackling important concepts such as familial duty, mental illness, and degenerative diseases, Maame is definitely worth the read.

I loved this so much!!! I didn't want to put it down at any point despite it not being a "page turner" in the way you normally think when you hear the phrase.

Very heartbreaking and beautiful and especially important for those that are also Maame. I appreciate that George subtly wrote herself in the story (not in ways that you would think at first). Twenties are so hard.
