emotional funny lighthearted medium-paced

This book in the series was a little bit slower than the other ones but still really good. It was kind of odd to start with them both having a crush on other people and then ending up together, but that is life isn't it. It was definitely a sweet story. I can relate to Brianna in a lot of ways, being awkward and feeling not as beautiful or perfect as other people. The jealousy of seeing other people happy with things that you wish for but still being happy for them. They definitely left a couple things wide open and I hope they get resolved in the other books, like who is the volunteer for the lookout and why was someone looking for her, it seems there is an interesting story there. Overall the book was good, there wasn't much growth to the characters but that is what made it good, they both were exactly who they were and didn't need to change to be together. All they had to do was except each other for everything they were and all the baggage and crazy family drama they have. Like the other books there is humor and love and cuteness in this book, it is written in such a way that nothing feels forced. It is like the characters themselves are funny and humor wasn't added as a filler or uplifter, it's just there, just like real life. I was left wanting more for Sydney and for Finn, more background and maybe even a story for each of them. Finn's book is next and I hope we can uncover his secrets and background because all we know about him is he is from LA and he ran during the original burnover, his story has been needing some information since book one. Overall this is a very cute friends to lovers story and I recommend it.

What a great story, and it's still free in ebook on amazon!

If you crave meeting a pair of intelligent, moral characters and a good, just-complex-enough plot, go nab this free ebook. I kept waiting for something to annoy me, but they're just that good.

I'm surprised, because usually in m/f romances the woman isn't enough of her own hero. But not Brianna! Bri's awesome. And so is Rollo, despite his family - he is the great kind of hunky manly-man. This is book 3 in a series, but all that means is you get to catch up if you love this book as much as I did. I just added the series to my wishlist.
