First off, gorgeous cover and purple sprayed pages on the first editions! I really enjoyed this book. The characters are interesting and likable, and the story itself well-written. The lore is well-explained and not hard to follow, and there are little blurbs at the start of each chapter that are useful and not-too-cryptic information that become relevant pretty much immediately. I’m excited to read book 2 in this series.

This was a fun story. I have an issue with the power dynamics between Ki and her love interest but otherwise it was a fun adventure. I can't wait to read the next book.

The whole concept of this story was intriguing. I was totally in love with Kiara and her badass self. It was so lovely to see a MC that had hang ups but also didn’t whine about them. The found family aspect was so sweet. I will definitely read the next one in the series.

I loved this book so much. I was hooked from the beginning and did not want to put it down. Kiara is one of my favorite characters ever now. She is so strong and feisty. She is loyal and funny. Jude is the dark brooding counter part to her. The story was fantastic. The reveals of some of the secrets were such a surprise. I need the next book right this very minute.
Couldn’t vibe too much with the characters and I just wasn’t paying enough attention to the story to make sense of it. The writing also wasnt my favorite. I decided to just dnf/soft drop it for now and try picking it up again another time.
A good premise and world building, but the dialogue was unrealistic, and the beginning was slow while the ending felt rushed. Also, too many new problems were introduced too late.
