The writing is beautiful as hell... but it had its ups and downs. It was boring. It was interesting. It was boring. It was interesting. It was boring. I still enjoyed the story through it all.

Love the cosmic horror with the addition of queer characters and everything that goes along with both!

It was okay - the mysteries and the whys kept me reading but I wasn't engrossed. Loved all the references to mythology.

August 2023 - looking back this may have put me in a reading slump :(

I love the beauty in this book. Easy to just keep reading page after page and imagining how things look and smell. Dark and heart wrenching.

Quite a few good ideas, but meshed in a not-too-coherent way, in a narrative that often does more telling than showing, and with characters that rarely feel more than cardboard figures made of just several traits. However, I love the setting, the urban fantasy, the Lovecraftian and mythological references - I just wish the actual writing did more for me.

subpar. didn't balance the cast well, confusing and meandering plot, and I didn't actually like most of the characters

Couldn't finish it. It was more druggy-urban horror than the urban fantasy I was hoping for.

An interesting way of looking at dreams and how deep some connections go. I really loved the words she used in the book and the through way in which she described things.
