Not many authors are good at writing time line jumps, but Malorie Blackman does, because she doesn’t over do it nor over complicate it.

This felt hard to follow at points, and again the characters annoyed me, but the ending saved it a little.

There aren't many books that you'd fall in love with just by reading the first two pages. The writing is so simple and yet beautiful.

Set in an alternate history and centred on the mixed-race character, Callie Rose, if offers a different perspective on racism (and family issue), and how her life symblizes the separate parts of society joining.
