SSS: Year One by Yumoyori Wilson is book one in the Supernatural Spy Academy Series that I listened to on audio narrated by Lacy Laurel.

This is the first book of Yumoyori’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I cannot wait until SSS: Year Two is released on audio. However, I may not be able to wait that long and will have to buy it on kindle or paperback.

Lacy did a great job narrating. I really enjoy her different voices she uses for each character. It makes it really easy to follow along with the storyline and it helps bring the story to life.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves Supernatural Reverse Harems.

Surprised by how much I enjoyed this.

I like a lot of reverse harems and this was 100% up there.

The whole background of the spy school was super interesting to me. Very interested in how this develops.

I have been on such a huge academy kick the last couple of week and I am loving them! This one was really good. Not my favorite but I did enjoy it. I love that Silver is a witch. I love that she is the first witch to be in SSS. I think that is going to make this series so interesting. I also LOVE her guys. Each guy was so unique. And hellooo we get a freaking hellhound! I am beyond excited about that! The only thing that was a negative for me was the way the book skipped most of the first year. I understand there is only so much you can do in the first year and the author wrote the most important things but I just feel like I missed alot. But I am still excited for Year Two and to see her relationships and her powers grow!

Lacy Laurel narrated this book and she is one of my absolute favorites. She has a way of making each character come to life and she gives them each a voice. It's fantastic

✔️ THE GUYS
✔️THE RELATIONSHIP,  THE TEAMWORK , THE TEAM
✔️ I loved how easily they fell into their relationship and companionship. I loved how there was no asshole in the harem. All of them are so PRECIOUS,  I'm excited to read more
✔️plot seems very interesting,  cannot wait to read more
✔️ again, I have to mention the guys, I'm OBSESSED - the way they're treating her????? BLESS THEM
✔️ female MC - quite powerful, seems lovely
❌ the time jumps, I do hate them, always have,  always will - wouldn't mind more details about their day-to-day
❌️ sloooow start, honestly skip a lot, the moment the guys appeared, it got interesting
❌️ her EX - got he is a trigger warning in itself.

Don't know why it took me so long to start reading this series, but it has EVERYTHING I need in my life right now.

》She opened the bottle of rosé and poured me a glass. Dimitri reached for it, swirling it around a few times and sipping first. "Ah. Not a bit of poison in it. Good to know the employees are loyal."《

Solid read and enticing story!

While there were definitely a lot of telling instead of showing moments and a whole lot of cliche conversations, none of it drew away from my love of this story. It was enticing, hard to put down, and a fun ride altogether. Can’t wait for year 2!

SSS – Supernatural Spy Academy: Year One is the introduction of a new series by Yumoyori Wilson. In this book I was introduced to Silver Spell Solange. She’s a witch with the dream to attend the SSS Academy. This school is for shifters only. Witches/Mages have attempted to attend in the past…and failed. But this is Silver’s dream and one that she told to her father before he took sick and passed away from a magical disease. Star has applied and the waiting is killing her, but this…this is going to be her year. Now, the trick will be disguising her humanity and working with the four shifters she teams up with. Striking a deal is the easy part – they agree to help on the condition she dates all four of them for the four years that they are at the academy. Sounds pretty easy right? Well…let the TRIALS begin!
SSS is an engaging novel right from the beginning! The author gives us Silver and her family and shows the dynamics not just there but with her best friend’s mother as well. I absolutely love the dynamics, relationships, and connections between them. It’s warm, comforting and loving. Silver is such an interesting character. She’s beautiful, but she’s not vain or arrogant about her looks. She’s a powerful witch and the author clues in readers as to how you can tell this by certain details concerning the character(s). I appreciate that, for the most part, we meet the guys one by one. I have to admit that I already have my favorites of the group.
I absolutely LOVE this book! Most books that I have read over the years tended to only focus on a couple of groups of shifters at a time. This author has taken on quite a daunting task of giving us several groups of shifters – vampires, angels, hellhounds, werewolves, succubi, incubi, cat shifters, dragons, and more. It’s almost enough to make your head spin from the eagerness of wanting to see them all and learn about them. This is part of what helps captivate me into this book because there are so many things going on, but while I say this it never becomes overwhelming.
I love and appreciate how easily and quickly Silver and the guys all get along with each other. There isn’t one male trying to be the alpha/top dog over everyone else. They all communicate with each other and seek to understand each other. Everyone has their secrets, things that they are keeping to themselves, but when you learn these things it just helps to build the character and your connection to each of them. I love how each one is so different from the other that helps to create something unique in comparison to the others. Shifters like to stay with their own, but these guys are bucking the “norm.”
As I said before I have my favorites already in this series – Dimitri and Yuriel. Dimitri is absolutely adorable! LOL! Yuriel is mysterious, but there is something more to him that calls to me. Star – the uni-kitty…I’m in love with her. Haha! I love kittens and thanks to this author I’m looking for one (a plush mind you. LOL) If I had to say that there was something I don’t like about this book it’s Silver’s “best friend.” We get flashbacks/memories for all of the characters and I have to say that I don’t think Nikko was ever truly Silver’s friend and this hurts my heart for her. But I’m kinda hoping that there will be some sort of redemption for her.
There is so much going on with this book and these characters that I could probably go on forever. LOL! But if you love paranormal academy books with reverse harems, unique characters, the right amount of humor sprinkled in, and some steamy scenes to make you drool then this is the book for you! I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I can’t wait to start the next book in this series, because it can only get better from here!

Definitely the most action packed of Avery Song’s books. And possibly with my fave heroine…

This was just some fun. Well…almost 700 pages of it, but I was okay with how long this book was- and then read it all in a day.
The magic system was also Song’s best. Shifters, witches and all the fun shizle in between.
All of this authors books follow a similar pattern, but I definitely think she used her tropes the best this time. Callister was the worst ex and Nikko the worst best friend. I actually cried when Silver talked about her past. CRIED! I don’t believe in showing emotions like that.

Still gotta say Blazing is her best series I have read, but this is totally second.
