way better than it really has any right to be
M Stovers take on episode III was incredible, though at times I hated that I had to face and acknowledge Anakins red flags (they’re more… blunt than they are in the movies). But I suppose that’s what makes this book so good - it really delves into the mind space of the characters.

Time has been kind to the Star wars prequels, and I have to say: this is Actually one of the better actually one of the better novelisations I've read: not just a straight screen to print transfer (yes "The Phantom Menace": I'm looking at you!). It's not perfect, nor even the best Star Wars novel I've read, but it doesn't need to be: it's Star Wars, after all!

I've always heard people sing praises for this book. I never knew just how high the praises actually work.
Hands down, this is the best Star Wars novel I've ever read. It wasn't just the script fluffed out. This had impactful, immersive writing. A distinct style that truly made it a novel, not just a movie written in text. I wanted to devour this and also take my time so it would never end.
I cried multiple times. My mind was sucked in and completely absorbed by this story even though I knew what was going to happen. It broke my heart so many times.
I don't even know what else to say except this was astounding and deserves 10,000 stars.

Matthew Stover truly gets this story, he truly gets what George lucia's wanted to go for but couldn't because he got too caught up in special effects. The book holds itself like a homeric tragedy, and expands on very nearly every aspect that the movies only imply. If there is only one start wars book you ever read, make it this one

Matthew Stover took an already heartbreaking story and made it a million times more heartbreaking. This book was So good, it added so much to what I already loved from the movie. This was one of the funniest and most heartbreaking books ive ever read. Such a Good novelization of revenge of the sith!!! If you like star wars, heartbreaking stories, complicated brother relationships, complicated love all around, the finding of hope, the tradgedy of losing it, you should read this book!!!!
