Heard good things but was shocked by how much better this is than the film!

I know it sounds crazy, but "Revenge of the Sith" is a gripping tale of deception, betrayal, manipulation, and twisted passion... as long as you ignore the crappy movie they made, and read the damn novelization instead. The key difference between the movie and the novelization is that the movie was a brainless blockbuster made by a washed-up hack who can't direct his way out of a paper bag, and the novelization is a thrilling and tragic fantasy novel written by a long-underappreciated master of the craft. I simply cannot say enough good things about this book. If you liked the original Star Wars trilogy and were disappointed by the prequels, then you needn't feel cheated because it's all here. I sound like a completely insane person, but you *need* to read this book.

Just finished The Revenge of The Sith novelization. That was BRILLIANT. I really liked the "This is Anakin Skywalker"-kinda parts, where they got really into the characters' heads. It really made Anakin's fear and turn even better, and the way Kenobi felt about both things. And they way Palpatine was described (a dark shadow, his sleeves looking like wings, his hands like talons and stuff) made him so menacing! Man, this was good!

Incredibly well-written novelization that changes how I view the saga. Matthew Stover gave new life to everything that fell short or flat in the film. I cherish this book.
