I have never come across an author who I find so inconsistent, or should I say, my reactions to his books are so inconsistent. This is my third read by Logan: I gave ‘Trust Me’ 2 ⭐️, ‘The Catch’ 4 ⭐️ and now this one sits in the middle, closer to the former than the latter unfortunately.
I felt this book had a really interesting plot, but was slow to pick up pace. The sleazebag professor was almost comical - who uses lines like “It’s wet isn’t it?…Your sex.” I was literally cringing.
Once the main point of the story kicked in it became incredibly far-fetched, quite nonsensical really. The whole Russian crimelord angle was bonkers, but got even more farcical when it went wrong…wowsers, Russian crimelord fails in his mission, but the university lecturer gets the best of the sleazebag…hmmm.
Oh and in Chapter 43, she breathed ‘…in through the mouth, out through the nose’ - try it, it’s definitely meant to be the other way around

I read Logan’s first book, Lies, not too long ago and thoroughly enjoyed it so I knew this one would be no different. And I was right! This one was full of action, thrills, deceit and power.

If this was the first TM Logan book I'd read, I'd be swearing off reading any more. This was terrible. The protagonist was painfully frustrating, the book was incredibly repetitive, and Sarah's children were so annoying and bratty and way too much unnecessary time was spent on them. Sarah constantly made stupid and naive and foolish decisions despite supposedly being clever enough to have a PhD and be a professor.

3.5 stars. Alan Hawthorne is everything wrong with this world. And this book. Some of the decisions Sarah made I just could not believe. And the things everyone let Alan get away with… insane. I personally didn’t feel much satisfaction about the end, though I’m glad he got what was coming to him. Just felt like there was something - or someone - always looming.

I love T.M. Logan's books! 29 seconds is a gripping ,disturbing, very engrossing read. I couldn't put it down!
All of the characters were well-developed and life like. Has a wonderful plot. Be prepared to sit on the edge of your seat!

Thank you to Netgalley and St Martin Press for the opportunity to read this book. I give it five stars though if I could I would give it 4.75 stars. There was just a tiny something missing for me, though I cannot accurately describe what. I was hooked into this story from the beginning and definitely did not see the ending coming. This book was so good and got me out of a recent reading slump. I highly recommend it.

29 Seconds was an “ on the edge of your seat” thriller that I read in two days! The plot was so unique and intriguing. It begs you to ponder what you would do if you were asked to provide a name of one person to make disappear forever, no questions asked, especially if you were faced in a situation like Sarah was. I was hooked throughout the whole novel and was so eager to see what would happen next. So many parts were infuriating and made me emotional, yet that added to the story and kept it real. I really enjoyed this book, it was hard to put down!

I LOVED Lies, and immediately knew I needed to read the new T.M. Logan thriller! His books are fast paced and the epitome of riveting. You will go up and down and all around and feel like you went ten rounds in a boxing match and make it out on the other side totally blindsided and saying out loud: "What the heck just happened?!"
When Sarah rescues a little girl in trouble, the girls father - a very dangerous man - offers to thank her in the only way he knows how: a deal that will make her disgusting and insufferable boss disappear.
Will Sarah do it? Will she give his name?
Fantastic... and so much fun. A totally unique story that whips you around in twists and turns that cause such emotional whiplash, that you stopped trying to guess what would happen. And the ending. Wowsa.
