it was really sad to see how Gregor worked so hard and made money for his family, only to be neglected. After he turned, he could still speak but his family thought that there was nothing of him left in there and they just left him in that room to rot, having to only tolerate him, as the author said.
I also felt really bad for him in the end, because the way they just moved on so easily kinda made me feel like they just used him for his income. I know his mother was sad about it, and in the beginning I also thought his sister because she took care of him the most.
But In the end for them he was just a pest and they wanted to get rid of him, even though Gregor could still understand them and feel bad, and he still thought about how he could help them with some money he had saved.

“I cannot make you understand. I cannot make anyone understand what is happening inside me. I cannot even explain it to myself.”

This story was so good that it made me want to read Kafka's complete stories. I think I don't have to say anything else. Just read it! It is short, quick, beautifully written and packed with emotions.
