listened to this as audio book because the ebook was a 26 week wait (i also ended up spoiling some of this for myself. mainly which characters died).

i enjoyed this one, but i honestly think it was my least favorite of the three. the first was my favorite and the second was a slow start but appreciated and enjoyed. 


i think this one has a lot of filler. we had a lot of new character perspectives and not all of them worked for me. 

i did not care for

osaron’s

chapters. i’m really not sure what it added, and i think the conflict would have been more thrilling had we not had this perspective. 

i enjoyed learning more about

holland

of course. i never thought he was gone. i enjoyed this arc. 

i loved

lila’s antari

reveal. realizing the easter eggs was so good. 

i’m excited for the fragile threads of power. im happy lila will be featured in it, she was one of my favorite characters and i’m happy to follow her through that series.

It felt very slow at times, I really liked it, in general, but sometimes we would shift to a POV that (while it added to the story), didn't feel very exciting. I really liked seeing more of Holland's past (they will never make me hate you bbygirl), and Kell and Lila's relationship ❤️, I am, sadly, indifferent to Rhy and Alucard (individually I like them well enough, their romance doesn't spark anything in me tho)

The Epic final battle of the Darker Shade of Magic series.

A must read if you like: Fantasy, LGBT+ Representation, unique magic.

This whole book felt like Final Battle of the second book.Action packed every second and tying up every loose end.

An unlikely trio, the three Antari have to band together to bring down the Shadow King.

Content Warnings: Graphic descriptions of physical violence, self harm, war depictions. 

This book didn't take the turns I expected, and I LOVED how this book wrapped up the series. I love V. E. Schwab and this book didn't disappoint.

I like the dual narrators.
