Throughout many years of reading so many different kinds of novels, you tend to lose that butterflies-in-your-stomach feeling you got when you picked up a good book. I remember getting that feeling when I was younger with almost every single book I read. But growing up I've sort of.. lost it, I guess. I read a book and think 'meh' that was alright, but I've read the same kind thing before.

When I grabbed this book, I thought not much of it. I'd watched a bit of the t.v. show and heard wonderful things about the story, so I decided to give the actual book a chance.

Oh my, I'm SO GLAD I did!!! This book sucked me in right from the very beginning. The history of Scotland; the details right down to the blades of grass and fibres of clothing to the characters; the character backgrounds and the growth of the characters. Oh my god... I freaking loved this book.

Everything about this book I loved. I think I'd read Diana Gabaldon's grocery list. Her writing is beautiful!!!

SO GOOD!!!!! I didn't want to put this book down. I was engaged throughout the whole story. I loved Claire and was rooting for her the entire time. Gabaldon has such an interesting writing style and she gave her characters so much depth. Every moment and conversation within this book felt important and impactful to the overall plot/story!
