I like the ideas here better than the execution. The ideas here are timely — anti-immigrant fervor sweeping the community, previouslyunderground racists feeling emboldened, the usurping of due process in the government — and they need to be talked about. Unfortunately the book leans a little hard on the preachy side. It reminds me of the anti-drug comic book issues from the 1970s.
I can only hope this makes an impression on some young minds, important counter-programming to the nastiness that’s permeating America.

Automatic 4 stars because of the Thor: Ragnarok reference.

4 stars | Families are funny. Sometimes you get up in the morning and you see them and you're like, “God not you again”. But the second they’re in trouble and scared, all your ideals and politics and what-would-I-do-if scenarios evaporate.

Another great volume. This series is very good. I love that she faces fantasy villains as well as real issues from today's world. It's perfectly balanced and Ms. Marvel's character development is really coming along nicely.

This issue was at least better than the last issue, but the series is not as good as it once was.
