I listened to this book during a shift at work and found after I really didn't want to continue as I found the story a tad boring. I loved the chapters with the grandmother, but I didn't really connect with the daughter much. Additionally, I spent most of the book wondering where the love interest for the daughter was only to find out it was a character I'd been picturing as one of the grandparents the entire time 😂

O'Leary created a beautiful version of grandmother-granddaughter love while demonstrating that you're never too old or too routine-bound to grow and change for the better. I loved the neighbor-next-door feel and how we got to see him bond with the granddaughter before knowing the full history with her grandmother. Having a grandmother myself who dabbles in online dating, this felt very real and very fun. The small town British charm was a nice escape as well.

This was such a wonderful book. I enjoyed every bit of it. Beth O’Leary has become an automatic read author for me. I love her writing style, the subject, and the stories and characters she is able to weave together.

Such a great story and so beautifully written. Can’t wait to read more of her books.
