Really cute book. Loved the grandmother's storyline way more, but had small town Hallmark feel, but with a lot more depth. Recommend.

This book is pretty much everything I wanted it to be. Romance plays an important role, but it's even more about family and friendship, and how those support systems can help you finding yourself. It's sweet and lighthearted without being boring. The characters are very well developed and loveable, it's impossible not to form an attachment and root for them. I found the story engaging and it leaves the reader with a simple but beautiful message in the end. It's probably not a book that will change your life drastically or shift in your seat, but it's a fun and wholesome read and sometimes that's just what you need.

I really enjoyed this story. I feel fiercely protective of almost every character (except Tod of course but we saw that coming...) and I want to run away to a small English town!!

While this book definitely deals with some very heavy topics, there were some fantastic moments that made me laugh out loud to go along with the ones that made me tear up!
I also loved that this explored sonmany different kinds of relationships - grandmother/mother/daughter, community, friendships, romantic relationships. So many stories focus on the romance but this one, the community, familial, and friend relationships were even more integral and important and I really loved that.

This book tells the story of Leena and her Grandmother Eileen swapping lives for six weeks, both need a break and choose to bark on this adventure. We see Leena move to the countryside where her Grandmother lives, and learns to fit into village life after living and working in London. Meanwhile Eileen has moved into Leena's apartment in London with her flatmates. Eileen tries online dating and going on adventures. Both Leena and Eileen are grieving for Carla, Leena's sister. Grief is woven into the storey beautifully, and the book still remains light in nature. Such a fun read to start the year.
