cut out the last two stories and this book is a five. I surprisingly disliked Poe's story the most. definitely worth the time.

these stories are mostly just fine! out of all 20 of them only 5 made me feel anything other than just 'meh'. so big shoutout to ligeia, the tell-tale heart, the black cat, the cask of amontillado, and hop-frog!!

I just couldn't get into this collection. Maybe I'll give it another try next Halloween and maybe try only reading a couple stories at a time?
