didn’t realise it was a series and accidentally got this one but i like that it could be a stand alone as well, it was nice and fast paced (compared to throne of glass which i recently read) and i loved it
This one was a quick read for me. I enjoyed the pacing for the most part. Lani was written well. Raife was a bit infuriating. His chapter at the end helped a bit but prolonging the inevitable got a tad bit irritating. If you choose to die in place of someone, you’ve already lost the love battle. I’ll give kudos to his trauma and Lani’e empath abilities allowing us to see how deep his pain really delved. Either way, the story was decent and the world building was pretty natural.
Overall: 3.5/5 - Enjoyable read but probably won’t stay with me. I’ll likely read the next book in the series.

Fabulous story that’s easy to immerse yourself in. While the previous book felt rushed at the end to me, this one finished in a much smoother manner and leaves you hooked and dying for the next installment! I love the authors descriptions and her character building leaves nothing to be desired, looking forward to more!
Whaaat?!!! This was good. I liked the healer aspect and getting to see how the MMC worked through his trauma. Also, the FMC's storyline was a bit unexpected.
