Kailani took a loan to save her aunt knowing she couldn’t pay it back. Now she must go to the Elf King’s land for a job to work off her debt. The Elf King makes her his personal assistant and she realizes how broken he actually is. He is searching for a wife or forfeit his throne; Kailani thinks it will be easy, but none are suitable for the king. She ends up proposing a fake marriage so the king can get what he wants, but he is only willing to do that with her.
I loved this book so much. It’s probably one of the best books I will read in 2024. The tension and friendship between the two main characters is perfect. I knew this was going to be a 5-star rating a couple chapters in the book, it was that good. Leia Stone’s books are all golden, and this one didn’t disappoint. 5 out of 5 stars, amazing.

This book…it could be so good, but it’s really not. It’s got so much going for it but is far to sped through. Great magic, great background story, great romantic building potential but scenes are over in a couple of sentences. I want more this book should be 3 to 4 times longer! The author came up with a great movie outline and decided she wanted to see the results of her creativity faster than that time line so she made a TikTok instead.

Another quick fantasy read by Leia Stone. I wish this series had more world building and went into more depth explaining the powers and magic.
I enjoyed seeing how the last book’s storyline crossed into this one, and look forward to seeing where the books go.
I really loved Lani as a character, she was so intelligent, witty and could adapt to so many situations. I enjoyed the fake marriage trope and thought the tension played out very well. Like the last book, this isn’t a spicy series but there is a big focus on romance as a plot point.

La storia si legge velocemente e tiene il lettore incollato alle sue pagine fino alla fine, ammetto che l’ultimo capitolo dal punto di vista maschile mi ha sorpresa come accaduto con il primo volume. Una storia che consiglio di leggere a chi ama i fantasy e adora le storie dove i due protagonisti contraggono un matrimonio finto o devono semplicemente convivere sotto lo stesso tetto. Quello che più mi piace di questa serie e che nonostante i protagonisti siano dei re forti e temuti ma allo stesso tempo rispettati dai loro popoli, abbiano al loro fianco delle regine così forti e determinate a sostenere i loro consorti e a lottare al loro fianco.

A quick easy laid back read filled with romance, war and magic and I’m going to call nightfall steampunk era now I know more about it!
