I've been furiously googling "how to get 6 hours back" to no avail since completing this journey. What was silly and a little bit fun in the first installment of this series was just downright loathsome in The Broken Elf King. This book had me rolling my eyes in every chapter, sighing with contempt at every page, fuming at each convenient plot twist. The writing is just bad and it wasn't fun any more.
Overall: There is low quality writing with high quality enjoyment and then there is this. 1.5 stars

This Series, Kings of Avalier has been amazing. Each king has his own unique power. All grow up as young boys together. So when the evil queen of the Highlands continues to reign terror down on their territory’s. Each one must find it in themselves to protect their lands. In book two. The Elf King, Raife Lightstone is the most powerful of all healer throughout the lands of Avalier. He’s been warned by his council. That he must take a wife and have heirs within the next year or he will be removed from the crown. With his tragic past that haunts his present. He goes in search of this elusive wife.
Kailani, half elf / half human. One who has always hidden her elf side. Must pay penitence for stealing. A poor, but highly educated girl with determination that knows no end. Kailani doesn’t know what her future will hold as she bound for the Elf’s kingdom to serve out her punishment.
This, a slow slow burn fantasy … with many fables and tales through the series. Has King Raife and Kailani. Meeting in an amusing way. And from there the slow burn begins. The pain Raife has and the determination of Kailani. Make this an excellent read. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series. To see the trouble and headaches. Each one of these prospective wives. Brings to these, strong bullheaded kings. It’s a page turner for sure!!!

Okay, DEFINITELY liked this one more than the first book, solid 4 ✨️
Easy read. Definitely makes me feel like I’m reading a fan fiction. Little too simple and spells everything out. The ending in particular felt rushed and flat. I don’t think I will continue with the series.
