"I can't do this anymore."
My stomach dropped. "Do what?"
"Friends. I hate being your friend. Screw friends," he declared.
- direct quote that I enjoyed.
Kailani and Raife form a fake marriage pact, but develop real feelings.
This book was extremely predictable, easy to read, and ended with a happily ever after. The characters were both lovable and annoying. Lani was consistently whiney, but she was also strong and lead the Elves into battle against the evil human queen. Speaking of, the battle was the best part of the book. Raife was obnoxiously scared of all his feelings.
As I expected, I disliked reading a book from a different set of characters in the same series. I don't enjoy the feeling of going back in time from the previous book to hear the next couples origin story and ending at the same place in time as the first book. Additionally, the spice in this book was fade to black and very little was described. This book series is borderline YA.
I'll likely read the rest as they are super quick reads and are enjoyable.
