I was still not thrilled with some of the pacing and hope long the first 70% of the book was but the character work, political intrigue, and the last 30% more than made up for it!

What a delight of a book. The prose is wonderful and descriptive, Hobb does a great job throughout the telling of this tale. It was a comfortable read until the plot kicked up and then it became a tense adventure, it had almost everything I could ask for in a book, and there's still one more in this trilogy and then a whole series in front of it. Can't wait.
