SOMEONE HOLD ME. I AM DECEASED. How did I love this more than Graceling? I am confusion. I adore fire and would die for her. Archer is a beautiful flirty boi. Brigan is *swoooon* nash is BAE. CLARA IS MY WIDE HANNA MY CHILD. Literally the plot, the intrigue, the characters, the development. I could not stop reading this. I am so glad I decided to continue on with this series and I CANNOT WAIT FOR BITTERBLUE. Please read this series. Impeccable.

Fire has something for everyone. Sci-fi, romance, action, and whatever other genre Kristin managed to wonderfully incorporate into her novel. It is frighteningly real and unafraid, delving into a fantastic unique world that is completely her own. The entire aspect is intriguing and the whole plot is inviting. The resolution is perfect, tying up loose ends enough to where you can close the cover with a sense of finality, but still think of endless possibilities of the characters you grow to love. This is one I can read again and again, I thoroughly enjoyed the content.

I read it for the first time when I was in high school and absolutely loved it! Now, I felt it was okay, still really good, but it feels rushed and unevenly paced. While the romance aspect is a big part of the plot I’d say, there is also rather little romance lol. Also, there is a five year gap between Bridgan and Fire - and she’s a minor for like half the book!! And later on, there is another developing romance with a minor and someone probably ten years her senior. Can we stop normalising that in YA books?!
Still, I did like the characters and the story is unique too. It’s YA through and through, and I think I’ve kinda outgrown that…

My favorite book in this series as a child. I still have it on my shelf

Super good. Not as good as Graceling but nearly.

So creative, engaging, fast-paced and wonderful. I wish each of these (Graceling and Fire) were their own series!
