Just read this series finally.  Really disappointing  they make seem like its actually gonna have some good stuff but its just brown ppl killing each other and apparently the author is white  and is selling nfts of a comic based off brown ppl being forced into slavery.....

This was way darker, way more confusing and way more gory than I expected and i was not into it
Despite it being literally like 75 pages I still almost didn’t finish it

Artwork is amazing and the storytelling is great. Gives you just enough to keep you coming back for more. Premise is very intriguing. Prisoners from Earth sent to this planet that run by a number of gangs. There’s seems to be underlying magic. There’s shapeshifting characters, characters with glowing blue eyes and can levitate things with her mind, and another character that seems to have visions. Very very intriguing, but I feel like I haven’t gotten to the meat is the story yet. This was just an introduction.

I'm so glad that I finally got the chance to read this!!!!
A graphic novel created by a diverse team, Concrete Park is a mix of sci-fi, action and admittedly a bag of everything else under the sun. It's busy and I love it. You've got gun battles, shape shifters, turf wars, melanin blessed characters, women present, in command and with agency of their own bodies....Very much reday for volume two which I already have!

Maybe more of a 3.5 read, it’s kinda chaotic? But I’m interested enough to keep going!

Side note: I checked this out via Hoopla (which I love) but some of the pages must have been 2-pages in print which makes the text REALLY hard to read digitally (and if you zoom it the pixelation sucks and it’s STILL hard to read). So if you can find this in print, I’d recommend it over digital.

Intense. Violent. But a lot of incredible characters including Luca and the M-80s Girl Gang. Great art and worth reading for a lot of reasons.
