The lest sentence hit me like a brick. The story ended abruptly for sure but it was still good. I do wonder what happened about his stomach pains but I do believe they were stressed related. I am also glad he got out of his bad habits. But I think we are all wondering who gets changed with the windows opened. She was kinda asking for it. The reason I gave this book 3 stars it because i’m glad I read it. It was a good book. It’s also a book I would recommend to a friend. Something about was good but not amazing. It was interesting but it also felt like it just got dragged on too.

I felt kind of strange and weirdly voyeuristic reading this again when I'm no longer the target audience. But it was good. Unsurprisingly, I'd forgotten how much Blume tackles along with the typical puberty thing. I've never been in the mind of a teenage boy, but I imagine this is what it would be like.

Yikes

This book has not aged well. Why does no one have a problem with this kid invading his neighbor’s privacy? Will not be sharing this “classic” with my son.

I probably wasn't old enough to understand this book when I was in 4th grade, and I'm sure I probably wouldn't have been allowed to read it if my parents had known what it was about, but I read it anyway and liked it at the time. I remember being a bit confused, as I knew very little about male anatomy at the time, but looking back, I understand the book better now. Or at least, what I can remember (and funny thing is, I remember all the stuff an adult wouldn't want his/her child to remember).

I think this, like all Judy Blume, is a great book. It’s not rated higher simply because it’s not my cup of tea. Please see bio for my rating guide.

continuing to backtrack on old classics I missed, including Blume who I somehow completely skipped. love this one, was pleasantly surprised when I found that the main character was a boy. the reader for the audio edition is excellent.
