The letter format was interesting, giving the novel a light-hearted feel. The tangents, which are under stable considering this is presented as a stream of reflections shared with a friend, sometimes reach too far, this making it difficult for the reader to hold onto all the strings of information. Enjoyed his reflections of New York versus France, as someone experiencing the same dichotomy

Relato divertido y lleno de humor negro por Henry Miller hacia USA, sin embargo no deja de ser bastante irrelevante. Algo ligero para leer un par de días y ya.

This was my first Henry Miller, and although it was witty and entertaining, I really don't think it was the right book to read to introduce myself to him.
I also feel like the print really affects more journalistic texts. Reading A Month in Siena, the font was bigger, with pages to pause and indulge in spectacle. The pages themselves were thick and textile. Whereas for this book the text was so tiny and the pages flimsy, that I didn't feel so encouraged to stroll through Miller's thoughts.
