This book was like House of Leaves Lite. It also really reminded me of The Invention of Morel. The labyrinth and its descriptions were very lovely but I don’t really find the story as revolutionary as some of the raving reviews seem to. I think because it feels so similar to House of Leaves, the resources and background info (outside the labyrinth) feels pretty insubstantial. I am a sucker for an unreliable narrator though so I enjoyed the journey nonetheless.

I think if I hadn’t read the aforementioned books previously, this could’ve been a higher rated read so I would still recommend the book.
