Overall, I enjoyed this book. I would give it 5 stars, but I found the writing style a little bit difficult. Until the last quarter of the book, I was often losing focus and had to reread whole pages because I missed parts. I also felt the book ended a little too soon. I thought it was leading up to Piranesi and Raphael having a conversation that resulted in them deciding to go back to the House, to bring James Ritter with them, and live the rest of their days there. Even if they didn't decide to go back to the House I would have liked to see their conversation in the cafe in the end.

What a truly joyful, kind, and beautiful read. Piranesi reminds me of my dreams of endless homes, endless reflections of life & the love of the world & its inhabitants that I hold so dear.

Holy fuck this book rocks.

Very interesting book. Very psychological with a very slow start, but I found it very intruiging as I continued, especially with the unreliable narrator aspect. I enjoyed the mystery, though I found it somewhat predictable at times. I honestly don't get the hype myself, but I can see why others would like it!

Original and intriguing with a dreamlike sense of having been here before. I enjoyed the slowly unraveling mystery and the quirks of the location. Unexpectedly a little dark as well, for a book that seemed very whimsical upfront. Docked a partial point because I felt like there were some inconsistencies and questions left unanswered (besides than those which I think were intentionally unanswered to keep some mystery to the universe), and although it wasn’t a bad ending, it felt a little lacking.

Wow wow wow. This book is seriously a masterpiece in writing. It is written so beautifully and evokes such unique imagery. It takes place in a setting that I have never seen before, but I could still visualize it perfectly. And the writing style seems complicated at first, but quickly becomes super easy to read but also super complex. I also love books where I get little bits of info about the mystery, and get to try and piece it together as I go. For real everyone should read this book.
Read from the Provo library.
