When I say I felt the entire range of human emotions reading this book… I mean it.

Every so often you come across a book where a character does something so out of character that you immediately lose respect for the author for not working more on character development. This is a classic example
Darius Acrux still wants to steal the birthright of his fated mate? After all the time spent pining and the longing for Tory. After promising to be what she needs. After promising to never hurt her again. After everything he and Lionel put Tory through. After everything she did for his mother and brother. How does that make any sense?
Not to mention the practicality of the fact that they each have 4 elements (to his two) and phoenix fire can kill a dragon. Seriously? I get the need to add conflict to keep the story going and sell more books but this just doesn’t add up
I get that the writers like to torture their characters but do they have to torture the audience too? This entire series is one step forward, two steps back
Also I get that he’s a seer but Gabriel seems to pop out of nowhere constantly in this book. Like every time someone gets into a situation they can’t get out of, Gabriel has “seen” that he needs to be there and shows up lol

Finished this two days ago and I am honestly still feeling the emotions that the book gave to me! I wish the next book was available:( I’m so sad! Box of tissues was definitely needed for this!

This book completely wrecked me. It had a lot of wonderful moments that left a smile on my face but the ending had me destroyed. The authors are amazingly dark and twisty and I cannot wait for the final book this December.
