It is so simplified. And Anne B never had sex with her brother.

This was a fun and entertaining look at some of history's most famous bad girls. I would have liked them to be a bit more detailed, but I suppose if I wanted to know more about something I could always look into it. :)

A StoryGraph recommendation that I didn’t expect to be a “young adult” read. Reads even younger than that, more like a tween version of Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls. That said it was still an interesting mix of short biographies of some of history’s bad girls.

Overall I thought that with the limited amount of pages given that they managed to get a lot of information out. I thought that the small graphic/comic page at the end of each story was very irrelevant and sometimes silly, it would've been a lot better if they left that part out. The story was interesting and it was something I've never read before, though sometimes boring it was still an okay read

Good middle-grade nonfiction is very rare, and when a good one comes along and it's written by Jane Yolen? Excellent.

This is simply two-to-four page biographies on famous "bad girls" of history, from the Biblical to the more modern. Little comic vignettes with the authors are interspersed, it's a good time overall.

The inclusion of the Salome story is the only downside, given her underage...activities. The inclusion makes sense, but is likely to cause some problems given the age group this is designed for.

Beyond that, however, a really solid nonfiction title. Definitely worth a look.

Breezy YA nonfiction that boils down the bad girls of history into understandable summaries. I didn't like the oh too earnest comics at the end of each chapter hitting the reader over the head with the "put it in context" mantra, although the sentiment is worthy.
